To add Ke圜astr to the list click the + button and select Ke圜astr from the file system. On older versions of macOS, or if for some reason the app doesn't appear under the Input Monitoring menu (or if you want to pre-enable it) then you may manually add it to the list of apps in the Accessibility menu. Simply unlock this menu and check the box next to Ke圜astr to enable it. On newer versions of macOS (10.15+) there is a new Input Monitoring menu under Security & Privacy within the System Preferences app, and Ke圜astr will appear there automatically the first time you run it. Ke圜astr requires access to the macOS Accessibility API in order to receive your key events and broadcast the keystrokes you are interested in. ![]() #Using keycastr installInstallation via homebrew cask brew install -cask keycastr Enabling Accessibility API Access #Using keycastr proAnother news: I ditched my MacBook Pro 2012 for a Mac Mini 2018 and Immersed works better than ever for me.Ke圜astr, an open-source keystroke visualizer. Unfortunately it got rejected by Oculus, read more here. #Using keycastr updateUPDATE June 2019, still working daily using ImmersedVR on my Go and looking forward for their port on the Quest! Because the Quest's 6DOF is the only solution to the 3DOF Go directional drift which is a pain when working several hours, having to recenter every 15 minutes, smh. it has made a lot of progress in the latest weeks and is now better and more stable than ever. UPDATE April 23rd 2019, still working daily using ImmersedVR. UPDATE April 4th 2019, wrote a post about my issue with LED screens Can't wait for the 6DOF Oculus Quest to solve this! AFAIU this issue is common on all 3DOF headsets. btw turning on the go on a flat surface did not help. I have to recenter the screen from time to time. UPDATE I wish there was something that would solve the problem of directional drift. However I now use Keycastr to show in real time pressed keys and this helps a lot with touch typing, I get immediate feedback everytime I type something wrong and my touch typing keeps improving :-) I also use Keybodo tactile stickers which help a little identify which keys my fingers are on. I did not find the default transparent keyboard in Immersed helpful for touchtyping. Also no pain with stereoscopic 3D screens (mainly VR and Nintendo 3DS) so I am exploring all VR remote desktop possibilities.īonus of working in VR: you cannot look at your physical keyboard so you are forced to practice touch typing which is an awesome skill! :-) - UPDATE this is quite challenging especially if you are a programmer and use special keys a lot. No pain at all with e-ink screens so I own more and more of them and they are slowly giving me my life back. ![]() ![]() Hopefully its windows competitors Bigscreen and Virtual Desktop will catch up soon!Ī little bit of context: I have central sensitization and acute debilitating occipital/neck pain every time I look at regular LED screens, this came out of the blue in 2015 when I was only 33 years old and otherwise healthy. ImmersedVR ( ) is as of today the only option for working on your Mac in VR. ![]()
